Now Dance
I can almost see in my memory
when mother was proud of me
for those first sobering steps,
my cheerful run. Later,
I saw and heard mine;
Billy, then Steven, finally
Julie taking first frantic steps of life,
another charge without
casual saunter. We learn
to run, then we slow down.
Look both ways as we walk, run, or saunter through life.
Mind the gaps, do the best you can, and have fun.
It’s a one-way ticket.

And now, a 1980s fun rock as Dire Straits teaches us about the “Walk Of Life.” (Hilarious)
Love it – and that video is certainly a blast from the past! 🙂

Wait… that video is 37 years old.? That means… I best start slowing my run.
Great take on the prompt.

I see your sense of an appropriate juxtaposition hasn’t slowed any, Bill. And that obligatory eighties synth with that Nashville bar guitar riff still bounces.

Thank you, Doug. Your cleverly creative comments make my day. And then some. 🙂

I was only thinking this morning that my regular walking circuit takes me almost double the time it used to. Mind you, I didn’t stop halfway for a pint back then!

I still have mine to do today. And nary a pub in sight. 🙂

What a wonderful take on the prompt, Bill. How true it is that we start off at a run (I know my mother laments that I did!0 I took a two-hour saunter in yesterday’s crisp air. Was so nice. Surprised I waited until this morning to write something completely far away from said walk!
Love the Dire Straits…

Thank you Dale. Happy Monday. Later this week it is supposed to get real cold (for us) and probably rain, meaning ice. Raining today, but not o cold, so I may do a 90 minute saunter.
Glad you like the the video. Kind of says it for me. 🙂

Happy Monday, Bill. And our temps are finally going to go up. Still bloody cold but hey. I can only bitch about it so much. Hope it’s not too bad for youze guys. A 90-minute saunter sounds divine.
I did. 🙂

I did not even get wet. But we have cold warning in a few days. 🙂 So, I may take over the complaining about it role. 🙂

Which you don’t mind anyway 😉 Yes, I heard tell from another blogger buddy in Texas that temps were gonna dip to below 20.
G’head. I’m rather done with it 😀
