Dig It
Destined to climb
cliffs, walls, grottos,
towers, trees, and poles.
Discovering, exploring
hidey hole caves,
abandoned mines; hunters of
excitement and danger.
Excavators, trail blazers;
spelunker boys still alive want
to climb the stairs.
Come closer to me.
Look both ways.
Explore the Universe while you can.
Mind the gaps in the grottos for hidden treasure: the mysteries of the past.

I’ll take the stairs, thank you … 😉 (though, in truth, as a young’un I’d climb anything that I could find … including rocks and trees and cliffs and overhangs …)

Me too. “Pull over. I want to climb that.” It was like a magnet pulling me. But same with crawling underground. I miss it.

I wasn’t much on the crawling underground bit, but I was like a mountain goat when it came to scrambling up any scatter of boulders or climb-inviting trees. … 😉 (Or roofs, if I could get away with it … 😉 )

I would definitely choose the stairs instead! My hunting instinct prefers the open air, no hidey hole caves for me. Thanks for teaching me a new word (spelunking) 🙂
