I wrote this silly, nonsensical poem for the dVerse Quadrille #162 – “For whom the bell tolls” (a 44-word poem) where any meaning or form of the word bell was to be included. Click here to find more awesomely ringing poetry.
More cowbell!
Cowbell fever
removes reaper fear.
Play more cowbell.
Cure your Oyster.
This poem needs more cowbell.
Walken wanders and wonders,
Is there more cowbell out there?
Play the saw or rub your washboard,
a cowbell makes music from hell—
needs more cowbell!
Look both ways when you hear a cowbell because you are not the bull.
Mind the gaps to beat the raps.
Some skits and actors shall live forever.
The cowbell skit from SNL that took a life of its own. Since my previous link did not work outside of the USA, maybe this one will.

If that doesn’t work and you still want to see it, try this: https://vimeo.com/425939085
Dang, Bill, you took that and ran with it! So hilarious!

Sadly, I’ve not come across a cow wearing a cowbell yet, although I used to own a cowbell, purely for ornamental purposes. More cowbell, definitely!

Who doesn’t need more cowbell? 🙂

If that video (won’t upload in Canada) is of Will Ferrell, then I am very glad I cannot see it – Plus it would take away from your super fun take!

Right, Dale. And it is longer than I’d like.
Thank you for supporting my muse. Kim mentioned musical instruments and cowbells in her explanation. I fell into it. 🙂

Way longer 😉
Can’t say I blame you. Pretty much every challenge that passes my way would end up being about my renovation, so I withhold. I’ll just write a “bring y’all up to speed” post instad.

Sort of like stay at home, reno, travel adventure stories. 🙂 That works for me. HGTV thrives on it.

Video wasn’t playable in UK but I soon found it elsewhere. Great stuff!

Thanks Peter. I may change that one out, but it is only important for folks to see what the poem alludes to. 🙂

this is as musical as Swiss cheese which surely rings with cowbells. A fun response to the prompt Bill
p.s. here in the UK did not work for me either but anything with Walken in it is going to ring with musical saw humour

Thank you, Laura.
I tried another link, but it may not work. Someone suggested I imbed the link. I don’t know how to make it work.

We had lots of dairy cows but they didn’t wear bells. I like the repetition here and now want to see this SNL skit.

Loved it my friend, very cool. This past summer my wife found my old cowbell from my rock band days of the 60’s & 70’s — poor thing was beat to hell. Still can’t find my old tambourine.

Thanks, Rob. Now playing in my ear: Lemon Pipers – Green Tambourine. 🙂

I like your cowbells poem. “Play the saw or rub your washboard, a cowbell makes music from hell,” sounds like a garage band. My retired son plays the drums in a garage band, they get some paying gigs. I have a string of bells cowbell, not the larger bell that one of our cows back on the farm wore. Mine came from overseas, I think Switzerland, it always hung on the bedstead but since we moved it hangs on my dresser mirror. Can’t play that kind, can we?

Thanks, Jim. Glad you liked it.
I confess that the saw and washboard alluded to Bonnie Paine of the Elephant Revival band. She does vocals, stomp box, washboard, djembe, musical saw, and cello. 🙂
