Friday Fictioneers for August 5th 2022

Her Majesty, Mistress Rochelle took up with the artful British Lady, Sandra Crook, and her collection of local history castle photographic art to inspire us to fictionalize a bit of Brit history and fantasy. If we surpass Her Ladyship’s 100-word limit, we’re forgiven (fingers-crossed) but sent to the castle dungeons where a Scot vampire Count will teach us to painfully count—one number at a time.

To join with this British invasion simply point to the below photo and click, from whence you’ll magically be transported to the wonderful purple swimmingly world of Rochelle’s blog where you’ll be provided proper guidance and told how to mind your manners.

Elizabeth tugged the wheel, “Left side. We meet up there at midnight.”

I asked, “Why join more judgmental, malcontent, freak poets?”

She pointed, “That’s our B&B. It’s a cover coven with vampire poets. Ancestry shows DNA matches.”

“You’re a hedge witch!”

“Be quiet!”

Later, I heard church bells as we walked into the ancient castle ruins.

A male voice, “Mistress Lizzy, is it? Douse them torches. Remove your clothes. Join us for sexy dungeon dancing. William must be bit.”

I felt a prick in my neck. Elizabeth laughed and danced away with a vampire named Charles. We were home free.

  1. Haha! Your intros are as entertaining as your stories! Lizzy left him right quick, don’t you think? Home free, methinks not. It’s Hotel California mixed in with The Rocky Horror Picture Show!

      1. I don’t know. Humans can be so weird. Right? 🙂 Maybe we are assuming that Elizabeth and William were closer than they were.

      2. Yes! That is so true. And why I really have to stop putzing around and finish my “Mick” stories. I’ve got a lot of ’em written down but there are more. Before I forget them, you know?

      3. Sitting here now looking at my next 12 to use (make that 17).
My actives are a pocket 3×5 with pen, a desktop spiral bound for long notes and projects, and one bound ‘composition’ for Morning Pages witch no longer get done every morning.

      4. 17. I kind of over-buy when I like them, but I am not the only one. LOL
I still do morning pages, just not every day. Last was 26 July @ 5:45 AM lamenting several things.

      5. No, you are not the only one. Keep me out of Winner’s/Homesense where they sell scads of hard-covered notebooks for cheap. Heaven forbid I ever leave without just one more…
I really do need to stop saying and doing said morning pages. I think it might be a good thing – as long as I don’t use it just to whine….

      6. Whining is fine, especially with wine. You do write in the mornings. So do I (reading too) and that’s it. What are my priorities? 🙂

      7. Whining with wine is always fine!
I write whenever. If I run – I ain’t got no time for nuthin’!
I need to be retired, that’s what I need to be… This work shit is really cramping my style.

    1. I noticed that, Iain. Unintentional.
My name is William. My witch friend is Elizabeth who happens to have a ghost-muse named Lizzy who is a Brit, and Charles was to be a reference to Bukowski. However, Royal connection would also be good (for a Yank), right? I’ll remember this for next time. 🙂

      1. It does, Iain.
And now (thanks to Keith, et. al.) I learn that William the Conqueror built the place almost 1,000 years ago. His ghost? 🙂

  2. Dear Bill,

“They stab it with their steely knives but they just can’t kill the beast.” 😉 A bewitchingly good time was had by all. I smell garlic in the air. I always look forward to your intros, too.

    Swimming Shalom,

    Rochelle

    1. Dear Mistress Rochelle,

That may be the “Warm smell of colitas / Rising up through the air.” I’m chuffed that you liked it as that is my goal.

      Peace,

      Bill
